The 14th Pride of PNG Women Awards concluded in spectacular fashion on August 29th 2026 with a gala dinner attended by His Excellency Grand Chief Sir Bob Dadae, Governor-General of Papua New Guinea and Patron of the CPL Foundation Pride of PNG Women Awards, accompanied by Lady Emelyn Dadae. Joining them were Her Excellency Ms. Winnie Kiap, Dame Meg Taylor, partners and stakeholders who gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of Papua New Guinean women.
The evening honoured everyday women whose leadership, dedication and service are transforming lives and strengthening communities across the country. These women serve as advocates, educators, volunteers and changemakers, often working quietly and selflessly without seeking recognition. Adding to the significance of the occasion, former Pride of PNG Women Awards recipient Ms. Tessie Soi, founder of Friends Foundation and a long-time advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS, shared how the award has strengthened her work and expanded opportunities to support vulnerable communities. She also acknowledged CPL Foundation’s ongoing commitment to uplifting women and recognising those making a meaningful difference throughout Papua New Guinea.
From more than 100 nominations received nationwide, 18 outstanding finalists were selected, with six women announced as category winners for their exceptional contributions in their respective fields.

Knowledge & Skills Award
Recognising women who expand opportunities by sharing knowledge, building practical skills, and supporting others to improve their lives and shape better futures.

Deborah Alois, Manager of CPL Foundation, said the Awards recognise women whose leadership and service are creating meaningful change throughout Papua New Guinea.
“At its heart, the Pride of PNG Women Awards celebrates ordinary women doing extraordinary work. It honours women whose contributions may not always be visible nationally, but whose actions are changing lives across Papua New Guinea every day,” she said. “Each of our finalists has recognised a need and chosen to do something about it, demonstrating the power of individuals to strengthen communities and improve lives.”
Congratulations to all 18 finalists and the six category winners. Their leadership, resilience and commitment to service embody the true spirit of the Pride of PNG Women Awards and serve as an inspiration to future generations of women across Papua New Guinea.
The biennial Pride of PNG Women Awards will return in 2028 for it’s 15th Edition.
